Performance Appraisal Training 'The Appraisal Meeting'

Target Audience:
Supervisors and Managers.
Key Objective:
To build the competence and confidence of participants to effectively conduct a one on one performance appraisal meeting. This includes planning process, conducting the meeting, reinforcing management principles and promoting two-way communication.
Learning Outcomes:

At the conclusion of the program participants should be able to:

  • Conduct a one on one performance appraisal meeting with a staff member and plan for the following year
  • Understand the importance of creating a team culture that is perceived to be fair maintaining consistency between all elements of the performance management process
  • Understand the link between on-going performance and effective regular engagement of reporting staff
  • Prepare Managers for the performance planning process, beginning with the Appraisal session
  • Observe, discuss and practise how to conduct an effective performance appraisal
  • Reinforce performance management principles
  • Promote two-way feedback between managers and employees
Resources: Program Facilitator, Workplace Reality Theatre (Professional Actor).
Structure: 4 hrs, with a maximum of 16 participants per session.
